Jane M. Cadreau is The Shelter Manager for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Advocacy Resource Center’s (ARC) Lodge of Bravery (LOB) emergency domestic violence shelter, located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Jane oversees all aspects of the LOB including supervision of eight (8) Shelter Workers that provide 24 hour coverage to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents that temporarily reside at the LOB. Jane assists in, but is not limited to the following; attending to the safety and upkeep of the ARC and LOB building, scheduling, writing shelter procedures, purchasing and ordering shelter needs, providing trainings as well as attending trainings and meetings as needed.
Jane has 15+ years of social work experience and 20+ years of customer service experience. Jane has worked for the ARC since 2013 as a Shelter Worker and accepted the Shelter Manager position in June of 2017. In the past Jane has worked at The Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Probate Clerk, Inter-Tribal Council of MI, as The Teen Parent Advocate as well as The Community Partners and Homemakers.
Jane attended Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan where she earned 39 credits in the Human Services field. She also has completed a large amount of trainings to date, in the area of domestic violence.
